Stay focused on your purpose and run your race. Nobody else will and nobody can do that but you!

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified." - 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

An author and preacher Francis Chan earned his seminary degree and started as a youth pastor in California. In 1994, he, his wife Lisa, and community of 30 others founded Cornerstone Community Church. Chan follows the convictions and answers the call over his life through each season. He has sacrificed many things for God, living his life in total obedience by donating his book royalties and giving up his salary to go towards different organizations. Chan even resigned from his congregation. He and his family lived in Hong Kong to serve others and expand their ministry. He encourages believers to have their own encounters with God and not to get caught up with the trends. Chan equally holds religious leaders accountable and hopes their congregations are having genuine encounters with God by directing people to God, not turn them away from God. With all that is going on in the world, there needs to be a revival and restoration in the sacredness of worship and the experience His presence. His solution is for Christians is to spend more time with Christ himself.

Chan is an author of many books, his first, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God was a New York Times bestseller. His most recent book, Until Unity is about how the Church does not passionately pursue unity amongst religions, denominations and cultures. He challenges his readers and believers to align themselves with God and His desires, pursue unification and not division.

Iranian-Swedish singer, Snoh Aalegra processes her pain and heartache through music, which is also a form of healing for her. Since the passing of her father, though years have passed, she holds onto the pain she has felt but uses her talent as her way to release the pain. One of Aalegra’s mentors and friends was Prince, who discovered her three years before his passing before anyone knew her. She was a student to the master artist himself. Aalegra’s experiences with death and love are motivational forces for her writing. Her deep connection with music started as a child when she heard Whitney Houston’s voice for the first time. Her grassroots initiative was built for activism and women empowerment. What started as a small initiative to support women organizations, exploded into a movement. Inspired by Maya Angelou’s poem, Harris’ ‘Phenomenal Woman’ t-shirt sold 2,500 units on the first day. What was originally intended to be sold for the month of March during Women’s History Month, extended for an additional two months. Harris is often asked how she did it, but she has no secret formula. Her goal was to inform and educate people in a creative way, utilizing digital platforms to make a social impact. All in all, whether someone is wearing the t-shirt or sharing an image on social media, she hopes it encourages people to use their voice so they too can be heard. "When you inspire other people to do the same, you’ve created power that has the potential to elevate an entire community. It starts with identifying the issues you’re passionate about and thinking creatively,” said Harris in a past interview on how you can change the world.

Smith is known for his humor, fresh anointing, and has a way of demystifying the Bible. He has given perspective on how we should nurture our relationship with God and maintain a healthy soul. We can have it all but still have an unhappy and unhealthy soul. By having a healthy soul, we are giving room for God to live within us. Our souls are a home for God so he can bless us.

Check on your heart. Check on your spirit. Check on your soul.

“Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well. It gave me great joy when some believers came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” – 3 John 1:2-4

“So, my dear Christian friends, companions in following this call to the heights, take a good hard look at Jesus. He’s the centerpiece of everything we believe, faithful in everything God gave him to do. Moses was also faithful, but Jesus gets far more honor. A builder is more valuable than a building any day.
