“Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. We remember their lives, pay tribute to them, and continue to send our love and prayers to their family and friends. On this day of remembrance, we are reminded of how precious life is and what it means to truly live in our purpose more and more.

As the year has gone by, the impact of his loss is still felt. The Academy Award winner, NBA Hall of Famer, Five-Time NBA Champion, New York Times Best-Selling author, youth coach, and most importantly, father to Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri, and husband to Vanessa, was dedicated in every role he had his hand in.

Despite any challenges, he persevered and championed every obstacle. Kobe once said, “Everything negative – pressure, challenges – is all an opportunity for me to rise.” That’s what he did, not just for himself but for his family and his community. Diligent, persistent, and committed. Kobe planted seeds of possibility and hard work around the globe, allowing us to channel our own Mamba Mentality. We celebrate his life and honor his legacy.

Bishop T.D. Jakes is a voice you cannot miss or ignore. The senior pastor of The Potter’s House has a spirit of a father who reassures, disciplines, and loves his children. He speaks from a wisdomful place that gives people hope. With the adversity that the world faced in 2020, he encouraged people with his convicting words that it is okay to celebrate your own survival. Bishop Jakes doesn’t disregard anything that goes on in our lives that may have been painful. He simply encourages us to celebrate the moments of not only the victories but the valley’s we encounter. God has taken us out of circumstances because he still has purpose and a plan for our lives.

We all face challenges in life but know victory awaits us! Those moments are intentional and full of purpose for our lives. How are you conquering any hardships you face? What keeps you encouraged to push through those barriers?

“Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” - Romans 8: 26-28

LANY, an acronym for "Los Angeles New York", is the indie-pop band from LA that Gen-Z just can't get enough of. The band recently released their third studio album in the midst of a hectic 2020. In a season of disarray, many are searching for direction and a solid foundation to stand on. To be able to get to where you are heading, often you need to reflect on the past. Paul Klein, the frontman of the alternative rock band, does just that. Klein opens up about his childhood growing up in a Christain community and his passion for music manifesting at a young age while participating in his church's worship band.

The California trio’s leading man’s story seems to come full circle as LANY released their new track “I still talk to Jesus” on their recent album. Klein speaks candidly about his process writing the new hit. "I typed 'I still talk to Jesus' in my notes before sitting down to write this song. I was raised in church but there are things I do now, that I used to think I would go to hell over...Sex drugs, rock and roll this is my confession.”

The lead singer, with his “Gods Got Me” tattoo draping across the back of his neck, speaks transparently about all the things he's done that may be considered "rule breaking” in his faith. Klein’s song lyrics encompass the notion of grace – undeserved grace - given to us as we "try to do better than yesterday". The singer songwriter gets vulnerable as he allows the audience into an intimate confession between himself and God.

“Stained glass windows are synonymous with cathedrals and religion. Talking about a stained past in the same breath felt like a humongous song writing achievement tome”, Klein says. “The message is that we're all broken. Go easy on yourself and give yourself a sense of grace.”

Everyday is full of sufficient grace so we don’t have to worry about our yesterday’s or tomorrow. Your healing, takes time. Your journey, takes time. The process, takes time. Everything takes time. Each season, each moment we live is not occurring in vain. Encouraging you to extend grace to yourself today and everyday.

“So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love.” - Romans 8:38

If you don’t know Paloma Elsesser, you will now. The voluptuous goddess graced January’s cover of Vogue magazine, an absolutely monumental accomplishment in any models career. The January cover is consistent with Conde Nast's recent vow to incorporate diversity and inclusion in their upcoming issues.

Paloma identifies as Black multiracial woman, but her beautiful mix of cultures - Black, Latinx, and European is indescribable. Her heritage embodies a new and unique aesthetic that aids in redefining American beauty. The stunning supermodel has had a wildly successful career, having walked the runway for labels such as Fendi, Ferragamo, and Savage x Fenty as well as recently starring in Coach’s “Originals Go Their Own Way” campaign.

Outside of career achievements, Elessier's real passion is championing conversations about inclusivity and body positivity. “I wanted to feel centered in my purpose. Modeling is my livelihood and my career, not my passion, but that passion is cloaked within what I do.” Whether she’s encouraging POC and indigenous youth to seek out spaces for support or encouraging other size 14 bodies to feel comfortable in their skin, Palomis is not afraid to use her platform to “be as loud as possible” and inspire others to do the same. The industry has created imagery and a narrative for beauty, but still falls short of its true meaning. With her bold approach, Paloma adds a different facet to what we deem as a society as beautiful. Her greatest hope is to bring deeper meaning and dimension to what many consider a very surface-level career.

Beauty comes in all forms but make sure it starts from within! Be bold in who you are. Be bold in what you do. Stand tall and know how you express your beauty can help others in their journey.

Be brave!’ and God will save them.Yes, even the guilty will escape, escape through God’s grace in your life.” - Job 22:26-28

“Every believer has received grace gifts, so use them to serve one another as faithful stewards of the many-colored tapestry of God’s grace. For example, if you have a speaking gift, speak as though God were speaking his words through you. If you have the gift of serving, do it passionately with the strength God gives you, so that in everything God alone will be glorified through Jesus Christ. For to him belong the power and the glory forever throughout all ages! Amen.” - 1 Peter 4:10-11
