DAVID GREEN SETTING HIGH STANDARDS WITH DIVINE DIRECTION
Founder of arts and crafts store chain Hobby Lobby, David Green has always made it a point to take care of his employees. Recently, the company decided to raise their full-time employee hourly minimum wage to $17. This is higher than the federal minimum wage. Just in 2014, Green set their company’s hourly minimum wage to $14. While this isn’t the first time Green and his executive team have raised their minimum wage, their consistent efforts are a reflection of being a leader in retail. Hobby Lobby’s are closed on Sunday and close their stores by 8pm Monday through Saturday. He knows by investing in his employees first, it reassures them that they are valued, increased productivity, and improves the work environment for staff and customers.
