On the field and off the field, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is present and pushing through the adversity. With Carr literally in the throws as he battles through the 2021 season, he continues to nurture his personal relationships with the veteran athletes and coaching staff to be wise and discuss on how to simply be better in life. His mantra is, “either you are getting better or you are getting worse.”

As a father, it is quite important to speak to his children on the franchise decisions being made within the organization so they can learn how to reflect and grow through challenging times. Football is a life conversation for Carr. You can move the football, but if you are not accurate with your timing you do not score. It is a quick and dynamic game that constantly needs to be corrected with allowing the coaching staff to review the plays along with the players focusing on their individual drills to gain confidence with each other. Everyone has their roles and responsibilities and they must believe in the team to win games. Carr states, “it all matters” and mindset is key.

They keys of the KINGdom live within you. What you think can manifest into action. Always discern and quickly remove the (D)istracting, (E)motional, (V)unerable, (I)rresponsible, and (L)azy thoughts.

“Then Moses and Aaron fell face down on the ground before the whole community of Israel. Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing. They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!” - Numbers 14:5-9
