Appointed for such a time as this, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris has mighty plans ahead as she prepares for her seat in the Office. On January 20th, 2021, she was sworn in as the first African-American woman, first South Asian woman, and first woman to hold this position of power.

The former California Senator has stayed true to her roots, beliefs, and values, allowing her to stand up and speak up in the midst of chaos and adversity. She reminded us that she may be the first and she will make sure she won’t be the last. Harris pays tribute to all she does to her mother, who was an Indian immigrant.

The Vice President-Elect and her husband who will be the first Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff will bring their big blended family with them along for this beautiful journey. Breaking barriers, building legacies, and transforming the standard of who serves in the United States.

Don’t accept whatever comes your way in life. Take a stand and make a difference. Your words have amazing power, so quit talking about what you can’t do, and start talking about what you can do. Today is a new beginning and the future is bright because you’re in it!

“Every believer has received grace gifts, so use them to serve one another as faithful stewards of the many-colored tapestry of God’s grace. For example, if you have a speaking gift, speak as though God were speaking his words through you. If you have the gift of serving, do it passionately with the strength God gives you, so that in everything God alone will be glorified through Jesus Christ. For to him belong the power and the glory forever throughout all ages! Amen.” - 1 Peter 4:10-11
