Simone Biles is humble, gracious, and the greatest gymnast with 32 Olympic and World Championship medals. This makes her the most decorated gymnast of all time. Biles has "God-given talent" and her ability to move through adversity also makes her mentally stronger just as she is physically. The 24-year-old athlete has faced traumatic personal experiences that have been difficult on her spirit and even then, she never faced defeat in her sport. Biles' safe space is the gym and she goes to therapy to help her process and cope all that she has faced. Although she knew she was ready to attend and participate in the Tokyo Olympics this past summer, a wave of anxiety came over her when she arrived. Physically, she was not in tune and knew she could not continue on. She stood on the sidelines cheering on Team USA in the team finals. She departed Tokyo with a bronze in the women's balance beam final after pulling out of the other events.

To Biles, it was a miracle to make another Olympic team. As a victim and survivor of sexual abuse, she used her voice to testify and speak up, for her protection and other individuals. Her courage spoke volumes and she learned how to speak up for herself. Biles is on a journey to fully heal from both personal and public experiences and though she does not know what that timeline looks like, it's a work in progress.

Your voice is powerful. Use it to fill the atmosphere with wisdom and love. The volumes you speak can encourage someone today!

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:11
