Maison Margiela's Creative Director John Galliano is known to be one of the greatest and most innovative talents in fashion. He has served in major roles at many renowned fashion houses such as Givenchy, Dior and now Maison Margiela. Galliano had his own label from 1988 to 2011. His recent presentation for Maison Margiela's Fall/Winter 2021-2022 collection premiered as a film titled, "A Folk Horror Tale." The film is another adaptation and expression of Galliano and his artistry. Galliano collaborated with Olivier Dahan to direct and script the movie. The "Artisanal" collection introduces a new technique, l'essorage, focusing on recycling and the up-cycle of products, then magnifying the materials, and shrinking it through chemical washes and treatments in order for its true colors to be shown. The collection is full of colorful designs from this process, tying in community and nature. Galliano's success and gifting continues to impact fashion, design, and culture.

"Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’” - Matthew 21:12-13
