Alphabet Inc, and Google's CEO Sundar Pichai is expanding the company with new plans to secure office space in New York City for $2.1 billion. They are expected to open their space by mid-2023, making this sizable investment as their largest office outside of California. The space will allow the company to grow their workforce. Despite majority of their employees working remotely and after Pichai's announcement that they are extending their voluntary return-to-office policy through January, this new investment will elevate their New York City presence. His announcement to employees was sent via email, making it the company’s third time delaying their full return into the office. Pichai remains optimistic with all of the changes in the world and knows he and his team will get through it together.
