The 20 year old musician, Willow Smith opened up about how she copes with her extreme anxiety in a recent “Red Table Talk”, with her mother Jada Pinkett Smith and grandmother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris. Willow transparently shared her coping mechanisms because she too battles periods of poor mental health, but she used her platform to share with others who may also face these moments how they too can cope. “I think self-soothing is the single most important thing you can learn how to do in life,” Willow expressed that this self-soothing technique, symbolizing a cocoon, is she just needs to be with herself in the moment. Once she is ready, she’ll open just as a cocoon.

While we live in a world that craves competition and comparison, remember that you are more than enough! You have to offer what no one else can. You bring abundance to the table. You bring YOU to the table. Celebrate it. Believe it. Live it.

“I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!” - John 14:27
