REMEMBERING KOBE BRYANT
Today marks one year since the loss of Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant, and seven others on January 26, 2020. We remember their lives, pay tribute to them, and continue to send our love and prayers to their family and friends. On this day of remembrance, we are reminded of how precious life is and what it means to truly live in our purpose more and more.
As the year has gone by, the impact of his loss is still felt. Tributes to Kobe Bryant continue on, from the hundreds of global murals across Los Angeles and to the Philippines, thousands commemorate his life in various ways across different platforms. The Academy Award winner, NBA Hall of Famer, Five-Time NBA Champion, New York Times Best-Selling author, youth coach, and most importantly, father to Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri, and husband to Vanessa, was dedicated in every role he had his hand in.
Despite any challenges, he persevered and championed every obstacle. Kobe once said, “Everything negative – pressure, challenges – is all an opportunity for me to rise.” That’s what he did, not just for himself but for his family and his community. Diligent, persistent, and committed. Kobe planted seeds of possibility and hard work around the globe, allowing us to channel our own Mamba Mentality. We celebrate his life and honor his legacy.
Know that you are making a difference. You are making your mark in someone’s life. Everyone’s impact is different. How do you think you are impacting others? What does your legacy look like? How are you channeling your inner Mamba Mentality?
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” - James 1:12
