The tone and standard for television was set sixteen years ago when television producer, screenwriter, and author Shonda Rhimes released the pilot episode of her first television series, Grey's Anatomy. Eighteen seasons later, the series is still broadcasting and has left a significant mark and impact in television history. Rhimes brought diversity and representation to television through her cast, the team she worked with, and the writing. She departed Grey's Anatomy for a new opportunity with Netflix, creating new shows. As a woman executive in Hollywood, Rhimes has paved the way and created the space for others during her career so they too can excel and live out their dreams!
You set the tone. You create the narrative. Be an example for others as you tell your story and live your life!
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:1-2
